Update from Cali & Jody – GoROWE.com

Dear ROWE Supporters,

Allow us to begin this post by saying “THANK YOU!”

Thank you for supporting the ROWE cause. Thank you for visiting our websites, signing up for our newsletters and downloads, and for participating in the “Results-Only” conversation via our blog. Most importantly, thank you for sharing your passion for ROWE with others. Your energy and belief in ROWE are the reasons we’re making strides in the workplace revolution.

Our mission has always been to promote and progress the Results-Only Work Environment philosophy, and we’re excited to share a new element in our plans to continue making ROWE the status quo.

Today, we launched a new website – GoROWE.com - with the intention of clearly stating the philosophy and benefits of a Results-Only Work Environment. We’ve heard (from many of you) that having conversations with managers is difficult when there isn’t a resource to explain the concept. We also heard that having some tools in hand would be helpful for initiating the conversation. So, GoROWE.com was developed to serve as an educational resource. We’ve also opened the door to some of our proprietary materials, and plan to open the door even further a little down the line.

We ask that you provide any and all feedback you have because your thoughts and ideas can only make us better. This is just the beginning of the exciting things we’re up to in 2010, so stay tuned and stay in touch.

Keep your passion for ROWE alive and continue getting others on board with the movement!

Wow! Totally unexpected for a Monday! I just got three extra copies of Why Work Sucks on Saturday, and today is the day I give a copy to my boss. Thanks, I needed the extra resources.

    • cali

Good luck, Barrett! Let us know how it goes…

    • Kevin

      Perfect gift for any boss!

Sounds like a great resource! Thanks for creating it.

Great news! My wife told me a church nursery volunteer was asking her about ROWEs yesterday morning (apparently, she’d been reading about the movement on my Facebook page). It’s fantastic to have such a clear, well organized site to point her toward!

    • cali

Lee – keep pointing everyone this way. Can’t wait for them to join in the conversation!

What a nice surprise when I logged on this morning. I usually check out ROWE news every Monday. It is especially appropriate today as I sit in a teacher workshop day doing work I could easily do from home. But I have to be seen putting in my time. My school needs ROWE!!

    • cali

Lynn – hope you had a productive day despite your location. Showing your face *just* to show your face is so incredibly frustrating. Hope you can find some resources on the new site to help bring the ROWE mindset to your school…

    WOO HOO! GREAT SITE!

I’m a firm believer that ROWE is the workplace of the future, and so excited about that!

The new site looks great! Can wait to see what other new things you have in store for us!

I’ve been listening to the audio version of Daniel H. Pink’s “Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us” and it is amazing to listen to.

The other day on my normal boring commute home (stop and go) he talked about ROWE and before he moved on to the next section, I just had to hear it again. The way he explained it had me smiling from ear to ear thinking, “Wow, people with common sense are out there running businesses!”

I made a mental note to dig in further and I am glad I did. Today I picked up the Why Work Sucks book and will be reading it from cover to cover. I can already tell that this is one of those books that NEEDS to be on every “manager’s” bookshelf and in every human resource department.

    • cali

Kevin – and we can tell that you are the kind of person that NEEDS to remain part of the ROWE movement! So glad you explored further and found yourself here. Getting Why Works Sucks and How to Fix It on every manager’s bookshelf sounds good to us.

ROWE Supporters: Are you up for the challenge?

      • Kevin

I feel that a ROWE is definitely for me. Now I just need to find one!

Once I ‘retired’ from the corporate sector and became my own boss – guess what – I practised my own company & staff a fair bit along your lines. Very harmoniously and successfully. This was in Hong Kong and many employees there have not been encouraged to think ‘outside the box’.

Looking forward to all your news and viws. Good work!
