Love Working in a ROWE

Jessica Mitchell recently blogged about the “Top 5 Things I Love About Working in a ROWE.”

We love when people share these stories with us and hope you enjoy reading them and realize ROWE is happening and will continue to grow.

An excerpt:

“Forget working from home; you can work from anywhere. Doesn’t it seem silly to drive to a designated location to work when you have the ability and resources to work from virtually anywhere? I used to see my uncle a few times a year in San Francisco. That all stopped when I graduated college and started working full time. Now, all I have to do is block out transit times on my calendar to let my coworkers know I am unavailable, and viola! Suddenly, I’m visiting my uncle AND working without missing a beat (or a deadline).”

Enjoy the full story here.

Thanks for blogging about your ROWE experience, Jessica! And thank all of you who continue to move the ROWE movement!

I found ROWE through Daniel Pink and love the concept. Now I am focused on turning it into a reality for me and my business.

GetWorkSimple looks like the perfect tool. However, I have emailed and called for the past week to learn more, and have not gotten a response.

I worked at a high tech company for 10 years until I was laid off last November. The last 4 years of my work involved helping managers and employees through the change of working from a conventional office environment (everyone had an office and came in 8-5) to working virtually (utilizing flexible/reservable offices and/or working from home either part time or full time). The trend that we noticed was that employees were working twice as long and hard in the new environment. We also noticed that it was a challenge for management to keep their teams cohesive and motivated. We dealt with that by providing them guidelines to manage remotely and best practices, one of which was creating virtual watercoolers.

I just read Daniel Pinks book ‘Drive’ and it
is so aligned with how I think.

I am looking for work in FL, is there a compilation of companies (besides Best Buy) that have/are implementing this management style?
