OCTO + ROWE Update

This update from D.C. Office of the Chief Technology Officer is about a “pause” in the OCTO to ROWE transition. As expected, the newly elected Mayor and his administration have decided to review the OCTO plan to go ROWE. This is commonplace in the world of politics and we are optimistic the new administration will also see the benefits of ROWE.

Neil Albert, the city’s chief administrative officer, said he had a generally favorable view of Sivak’s ROWE experiment. “Conceptually, anything that improves performance and productivity while making employees like stakeholders is worth at least trying,” he said. “The only reason for pause right now is to make sure the incoming administration supports the direction that OCTO is taking.”

We will continue to update you. Stay tuned…

Until then, let’s send out some good ROWE vibes to the D.C. area and the incoming administration.

I hope the new administration realizes that implementing ROWE will be a great investment for the goverment.

We hope so, too. There are already so many positive consequences occurring at OCTO – even in the early stages of migration – and we want those to continue!

Understandably, every new adminstration wants to see what’s going on before continuing on a new project. Hopefully, they will see the outstanding benefits of ROWE for the adminstation, staff, and the city they serve. Here’s to full steam ahead!

      We’ll cheer to that, Jenn!

Fingers crossed the new administration gets it. I’d hate to see what happens to morale if they cancel the migration. They could end up in a much worse place than they started. Not a great way to start out as the new Mayor!

Yes – we’re remaining positive in hoping the new administration sees the benefits. You’re right, John – now that people have seen a glimpse of the future, they don’t want it to disappear…so let’s all send good vibes toward D.C.!
