Nonprofits have been doing more with less since the beginning of time. Public funding for nonprofits continues to shrink and it may never fully rebound, experts predict.
But don’t despair. There are plenty of free tools to help nonprofits plan efficiently and get results. We at CultureRx like the sound of that!
1. Plan for fundraising
The Fundraising Plan- Heritage Designs just launched this new site in October. The Fundraising Plan is a free tool designed to enable your organization to easily create a fundraising plan that will serve as a guide for fundraising activities. The site has a simple question and answer, step-by-step process for building your plan.
2. Plan for impact
Google for Non-profits – Apply for this program and get access to exclusive products and resources to help your organization expand its impact. Google gives grants to eligible nonprofits for AdWords advertising, discounts on Google Apps, and more.
3. Plan for communications
SmartChart – a planning tool that helps nonprofits make smart choices and develop high-impact communications strategies. This tool is great if you are just starting a communications plan or if you are re-evaluating an existing plan.
4. Plan for safety
Nonprofit Risk Management Center – check out their section of web planning tools for all areas of safety. They have a host of free tutorials for topics like risk management, workplace safety, and volunteer management. They also offer some low-cost planning tools for creating customized risk management plans, financial plans, and business continuity plans.
5. Plan for everything
Writeboard – Free and awesome for everyone, not just nonprofits, Writeboard is a useful tool for planning and collaborating with others. Writeboards are web-based text documents you can share, edit, comment, roll back to any version, and compare changes.
We want to hear what your nonproft is doing to plan efficiently. Are you using any of these tools, or do you have other favorites? Leave a comment or join our LinkedIn group, Nonprofits Doing More with Less, to continue the conversation.
