Not too long ago, we were contacted by an agency in Florida – Diaz & Cooper. They wanted to implement a Results-Only Work Environment. They’re a leader in their industry, unwilling to continue doing things that just don’t make sense. We conducted a ROWE Workshop for them recently and they have moved ahead with value pricing vs. time pricing. Diaz & Cooper’s President, Otmara (Omi) Diaz-Cooper, agreed to share their journey in a 2-part blog post. In Part 1, Omi described why her company decided to move away from the billable hours model and why they made their decision to go ROWE. We wanted to check back with them after a couple of months to see how they're doing with their new working environment. We didn't expect to get a high-quality testimonial video for Part 2, but then again..they are a pro ad agency! Enjoy.
The leadership team at Diaz & Cooper Advertising had an interesting epiphany. Omi Diaz-Cooper describes it in the video:
"We were already playing around with the idea of focusing on results for our clients. So, it just seemed natural that if we're saying 'look, let's not do billable hours anymore; let's focus on the results we achieve for our clients' that we should turn that around for our team and say 'you're not getting paid to sit in a chair for X amount of hours; you're getting paid to produce X amount of results' and so we should focus on that.
With ROWE, you are aligning your agency goals with your client goals, and so it benefits both."

My fiance and I were finally able to adopt a dog (without having to worry about trying to get home to walk him in the middle of the day or getting an expensive dog walking service). He's such a joy!
