ROWE Resources
Downloads & Tools to help you explain ROWE
We believe strongly in ROWE’s positive effects, but realize that selling in such a radical change to managers (and an entire organization) can be quite challenging. As always, we want to help. Provided below are a set of documents to assist in the construction of your own presentation for discussing the ROWE philosophy at your organization. Add your company logo, mix and match slides – customize to your heart’s content. We’ve intentionally given you a plain look so you can create the look you want and insert lingo that speaks well to your colleagues. Have fun and best of luck!

Healthy Workplace Dichotomies (PowerPoint, 721 KB)
The information in this presentation deck shows that the migration to a ROWE actually re-shapes culture. It creates a culture that is focused on what’s important. And it’s not just how leadership perceives the culture – it’s how everybody perceives the culture.
The Ideal Worker Norm (PDF, 214 KB)
The ideal worker norm is pervasive and powerful, even as employees begin critically examining expectations regarding work time that have historically privileged men. Employees’ responses to ROWE are also gendered. Women (especially mothers) are more enthusiastic, while men are more cautious. Ambivalence about and resistance to change is expressed in different ways depending on gender and occupational status. This peer-reviewed paper was published in the journal Gender And Society.
