Unpopular Opinion: Where collaboration happens doesn’t matter. Where performance takes place doesn’t matter.
What matters? The value it creates for the customer.
We’ve confused presence with productivity and confused collaboration with convening.
In a Results-Only Work Environment (ROWE), performance isn’t measured by time-in-seat or office optics—it’s measured by outcomes. Whether you're shipping code from your couch or brainstorming a campaign at 35,000 feet, it’s the result that counts. Customers don’t care if your idea came from a boardroom, bedroom, or beach—they care that it works, scales, and solves.
Collaboration should be frictionless, asynchronous when possible, and ruthlessly focused on delivering impact—not performance theater.
So the next time someone asks, “But where are people collaborating?”
Ask them back: “What are they actually producing?”
📍 Location is logistics.
✅ Results are reality.
